Replacing emailstop for bulk user upload

Replacing emailstop for bulk user upload

Hi All,

I'm trying to bulk upload a bunch of users and I've discovered that the emailstop function has been disabled in 2.X.  I've gone through MoodleTracker and there's a lot of discussion about emailstop, but nobody seems to have added it back into 2.X or talked about a workaround.  How does one upload a bunch of users with dummy email accounts and stop the system from trying to use those emails?  I don't want to disable email system-wide (possible); just for the users I'm uploading.

Thanks!

Have I asked this question in the wrong place?  It seems impossible I'm the only one currently trying to bulk-upload users.  Anyone?

There doesn't seem to be a way to do this in bulk upload anymore.

The field still exists in the database just where it used to be and you can manually set it via the "Temporarily disable notifications" setting in the Messaging section of a users' profile. But there seems to be no way to mass do this outside of access to the database.

Think people should vote MDL-40669 up.
