We are running v2.4, and using the default grading scale (because of an automated interface with our external SIS).
Often the teacher exempts a student from a particular assignment. I want to mark that in the moodle record in a useful way, so that I am not bothered by those student records when grading all the others' assignments.
1- how is the filter flag set for "submitted / requiresgrading" ?
1a. It seems that once a student enters anything into an assignment, the RequiresGrading flag is set. In my case, I tell students to write their exempt-explanation in the text-submission box, so moodle cannot tell the difference between "real" text and exempted text. How might I turn off the requiresgrading flag once it is set?
2- is there any other way that I can mark a student's assignment record as Completed or Graded without actually entering a numeric value into the Grade field? Even a workaround, using another datafield, would be useful for me. Using the LockSubmissions function might be acceptable, though it triggers an irritating text display.
(Reminder: we must use the default grading scale.)
Thanks in advance for your constructive suggestions.
