You need to "own" (be a teacher in) a second course on your Moodle. Imports and restorations do work then.

Hi,

I have faced a similar issue while importing a set of activities (Lessons) from a course in my department's MOODLE site (CRS1) to my university's MOODLE site (CRS2).

Here is a description of the setup.

  1. I am a teacher in both the courses
  2. The Course 1 (CRS1) is put under a subcategory S1 under a broad category C1
  3. The Course 2 (CRS2) directly comes under a broad category C2

Is this error happening because of the difference in category structures between the two moodle sites?

Regards

Jk

The course is being restored to the category that you select in the restore process...

Thank You Emma for the reply.

A quick clarification: I am not restoring the entire course, rather I am restoring an activity (in this case Lesson). And while restoring, I am inside the course and doing the restore.
