Hello. I installed week reverse order plugin on my Moodle. But still when I insert a new week, they come to the buttom. New weeks listed at the buttom, the old ones are at the top.. What is the problem? IS it because the installation package is for Moodle 2.5 and not for 2.5.2???
I would suspect that in editing mode that weeks are added to the bottom and when editing mode is off, the correct order will happen.
waow! I spent my hole day to solve this problem but never try to see in turn editting off mode thank you so much! You made my day. Now I have another question: is it possible to find "topic reverse format" instead of "week reverse format"?
How do you envisage 'topic reverse format' working? I do not believe there is such a format.
on my old moodle version (which is 1.9.9) I uploaded topic reverse order plugin about 3 or 4 years ago.. So I can change the topic of the blocks. When I add new blocks, they come at the top.
I need this because on Turkish, or Spanish or FRench classes, teachers want to write their own topic like "due on September 12" or "teslim tarihi 12 nisan". So I want to let them write the topic by themself and at the same time, the new blocks will be listed at the top. So I need "topic reverse order" course format.
There are two solutions to this:
- Reorder the sections manually by drag and drop.
- Create a custom course format that reverses the order of the topics when out of editing mode. That is because in M2.x+ it would be tricky with the 'add / remove' section buttons to put them at the top rather than the bottom (I suspect). I estimate that to create such a format would take between a quarter to half a day to write. I'm not sure how the drag and drop code would react, so may take longer.
And 'blocks' are called 'sections', so as not to be confused with 'blocks' like the 'Administration block' .
Thank you Gareth,
But I don't know how to create a custom course format. Drag and drop is not a good solution for us. Because in the 35th week, it would be very difficult to drag the very last section to the top.. IS there a way to change the date format in the section names? For instance instead 7April-13 April, I want to write 7 Nisan - 13 Nisan?
But if you use weeks and leave the default section name, then change language, then the dates change:
