As author of plugins I have several times problems with "Soruce control URL" link and plugin validation.
Consider situation: I have a single repository featuring several plugins, mimicking Moodle directory structure where they should be placed (i. e. not branches for plugins, that is Mercurial - not Git at all).
I think that "Source control URL" is an URL you can enter in source control system and get the code, so I add the URL to the repo with all plugins there. You can not clone a single directory of repo in Mercurial.
However, Anthony Borrow repeatedly asks me to change it to the url for browsing the code of particular plugin (i.e. directory) in the web interface. I think it's wrong as you can not enter it in the source control system, and the code is available from plugins database anyway.
Please - could any one with enought authority from Moodle HQ tell us who is correct and who is wrong? Shold "Source control URL" link lead to the repository you can clone or to the web-browsing of the code for particular plugin?
