database - partial modification of entries

I've built a database that I want to allow students to modify but only certain fields. For example

entry name field - no student modification, teacher modification only

entry statement field - no student modification, teacher modification only

entry example field - yes student may modification

entry example field - yes student may add

 

I can't see a way to do this. Advice most welcome.

Unfortunately not possible with the Database module. It is possible with the Dataform module where you can lock a field in which case only teachers will be able to update it. The next version of the Dataform allows you to set even more granular permissions. hth smile
