I have been using Moodle forums in my courses for some time now (from 1.9 on..) and something I had never seen just happened:
although I am the course owner (editor) I cannot start new threads to one of my forums.
I am told that I must be a member of the group! (I am using my normal role)
The forum is restricted to one groupping but that should not prevent me from starting new threads.
Besides when I choose "all participants" in the "group" selector at the top of the page, I am told that I do not have the rights (which is not the case).
Now more interesting: If I choose a "teacher" role, I can see the button to start a new thread, but when I click on it, I am asked to enroll!!
I repeat, this course is mine and I have full editor's rights...
Thanks for any info on the subject.
PS: a clue maybe: one student opened a thread recently on that forum and I did not receive any e-mail notification..
