So the 60% grade - what is the actual total grade possible because your grade book is showing range and if no-one got full points, then perhaps 30 wasn't the total number of points possible.
It is my thought that SWM calculates the first way that you have listed but again, I would double check that your range column is actually showing total points possible for the assignment and not just the total range of scores achieved.
