On my moodle site Moodle 2.5.4+ (build 20140131) Version 2013051404.05, I have a catalog of courses. I would like for students to "tag" or select from the listings to create a personal roadmap of the courses they would like or need to plan to take. This is different than registering for a course because at the time they are planning they are not yet prepared to register or attend. Ideally their personal selections would be on their dashboard or home page and when any of the courses are open for enrollment, they would be notified. But I would settle for a way they can develop a course plan. Has anyone done anything like this or have any ideas on how I might accomplish this? Thank you

That second plugin is not something the user would setup but it may give you some ideas...
