This is probably a moodle issue and not a certificate issue, but still I need to gain some insight. I am trying to change the email account to which the certificates are sent (a copy is sent to "teacher"). It should be an easy fix, but I am just not getting it...kindly help.
Presumably it is the person with the teacher role in your course?
Well, yes, I would imagine so...how do I find the page where I change the "teacher's" email address?
As administrator, find the person who has the teacher role in your course and click on their name. You should be taken to their profile - down the side look for the Administration block and click "edit profile". You can change the email there.
The certificate module try to find users with the capability to manage the certificate instance and uses that list.
If groups are defined in that course it's a little more complicated but I don't really know how it works.
Usually teachers in a course have the permission to manage certificates so they should receive the email notification.
But as certificate is using capabilities, you can modify this assigning roles and permissions to specific users.
Folks, I don't mean to be an idiot, but HOW do I find the person who has the role of teacher? HOW do I find users with the capability to manage the certificate instance and uses that list? HOW do I find these profiles? I already understood THAT I need to locate them, but what I am asking is HOW do I locate them. I keep on searching for the "teacher" profile, and I can't seem to find it anywhere...
Wendi- you have a course which has a certificate attached to it? Did you assign anyone the role of teacher to that course? Go to the course and to Administration>Course administration>Users>enrolled users and then see if there is someone whose role says "teacher"
No one is assigned "teacher" and I cannot figure out HOW to assign that role to anyone...
The emails are going to the main email address, and that is the problem. I need to set up an account for "teacher" so that the certificates all get stored in one account.
Well you need to make a new account and assign that person the role of teacher in the course where the certificate is (assuming I understand the way certificates work) There is no such thing (really) as a "teacher account" but you can give individuals the role of teacher in courses.
