Yes. Bigbluebutton has given a lot of promotion in how perfect their claimed open source web conference is, and yes it is precisely what every teacher and administrator would want. This would make Moodle complete and the ultimate choice community for education.

The problem arises when we do want it, and we want to simply download, press that bigbluebutton, follow a few simple instructions and it doesn't work. Yes we want it, but many of us are having problems getting it working as an open source service.

I think the major problems are: The need for the the moodle administrator to install BBB in a dated ubuntu 10.04 server, and then update it onto a separate computer. A lot of work, and the need of assistance from a computer geek to help you through it.

Alternatively you could use one of their recommended commercial hosts, but doesn't that  defeat the issue of BBB being open source?  Why can't BBB work out something as simple like the same as to how people use Skype for example.

Perhaps someone can suggest other open source alternatives? Openmeetings perhaps? Or somebody gives us full simple instructions in using bigbluebutton as claimed open source, with no commercial companies involved.
