Unable to delete submission from Turnitin via Moodle (Moodle Basic)

Dear all

We are currently unable to delete any submissions made to Turnitin via our Moodle Basic installation. I have logged a ticket with Turnitin Support, but I don't want to wait for them for a solution and then the issue lies on our side.

We know the following:

1. We receive the same error message every time when we want to delete a submissions: Moodle Integration Error 430 (see image attached)

2. Submissions that we are unable to delete also does not reflect under Grades for that specific Assignment in the Moodle course

3. Once you clicked on the Turnitin-link in the Moodle course, the following screen states on the top right "View # submitted assignments" and this number correlates with the number of assignments visible under Grades, but not necessarily with the total number of assignments visible under the Turnitin-link.

4. One Turnitin-link/assignment can have submissions that we are able to delete (and visible in Grades) and submissions that we cannot delete (and which are not visible in Grades)

5. There are more and more submissions via Turnitin that we are unable to delete vs. those that we can

Moodle version: Moodle 2.5.3+ (Build: 20131129)

Moodle Basic: Version 2.3.5

Any idea what could cause this issue?

Thank you,

M Horn

Not to fear, this problem was not Moodle-related, but a bug on Turnitin's side:

You are receiving this email because you are the administrator of a Turnitin account that was recently affected by a bug that existed between January 22 and 29th. During this period, submissions that were made to Turnitin assignments via a “basic” or “framed-in” integration did not update in the grade book or grade center within a Learning Management System (LMS) due to a failed web services call. In essence, a student would submit her paper successfully, but the instructor would not see that a paper has been submitted by this student. Users accessing directly through Turnitin.com (or Submit.AC.UK) were unaffected.

So all's well that ends well!
