changing/customization in clean theme

Hi guys,

I am using "Clean" theme for my moodle site, but I would like to have whole background as "Grey" instead of "white",

Things I tried

to do some overrride to css using the custom.css, setting background color for "body"

to do some changes to bootstrapbase variables.less and other places directly

but it dint work for me...

When I do the changes to the css parameters directly in my browser the things work.

So problem is I am not able to find which are the variables inside my moodle site which needs to be overrided or changed to make the look I require...

OK - lets clear the obvious first:

Have you turned on Theme Designer Mode or Purged all Caches?

Changing the background color on the "body" tag should work, so Richard's right that the change is probably caught in a cache somewhere.
