Hi Fellow Moodlers:
In previous versions of Moodle, I was able to install a third party addon that allowed me to prevent students from advancing to the next Lesson/Assignment without completing the previous lesson. But I cannot find the same addon for the latest version.
Does anyone know how I can setup a lesson/assignment that restricts a student's access until they complete the previous lesson/assignment? I need to prevent them from reading the next lesson/assignment/quiz.

Hi,
I have 5 topics (with 5 activities each) under a course. Now, I would like to set a restriction for the topic 2 to be visible only if the last activity in topic 1 is completed, which I could do successfully. However, the issue is, even though the topic 2 is hidden and not shown in the course topic view page, the activities under the topic 2 is displayed in other places like in activity block links (ofcourse we did not set any restriction for each activities in topic 2, since we have set the restriction for the topic 2, so the activities which belong to topic 2 should inherit the same restriction?)
The topic's restriction setting is not inherited to the activities under the topic, hence we are forced to set the restriction for each activity, which is making things complicated and time consuming as we will have lots of activities going forward.
Is there a way to, set the topic restriction and apply the same for all of it's activities, instead of setting the restriction for each activity?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not that I know of, sorry. Perhaps someone else will know.
Might I suggest in the meantime taking out the activity block instead?
Which version of Moodle are you using?
@Paula, Thanks for the response. Our client's need is to have the activity block for the students to have a consolidated view on the activities.
@Mary, We are using Moodle 2.3.
