My course has the eye showing for self enrolment, so I do not have to import my students. However when an unenrolled user visits my Moodle they are not offered the option of enrolling themselves. My understanding is that if self enrolment is set up, then the login page should be split, so existing users get the dialogue on the left and unregistered visitors have text and link on the right.

I have even tried re-installing Moodle. Help!
