I have installed a default version moodle, but I need to log in as admin to create a course / customisation. During the installation, I did not notice an opportunity to supply a password for the admin account, but apparently an admin account has been set up. What is the default admin password? Can anybody help at all ?

At the installation time you're asked to create a user / password. This user / password has admin rights, so you can use it to create courses and admin tasks. In reallity you can have more than one user with "admin" rights. The user "admin" that has appeared at the access window probably is the default, wich you can change the password after you logged in as the user you've created at the installation time.
