Yeh - you'll need to tell us what your OS is - what versions of stuff you are running, a more detailed hardware spec.
My initial reaction is that by today's standards, 600mhz & 1gig aint much for a server. At the end of the day it's about processor speed (& number of processors), memory and disk I/O.
As Martin says there has been LOTS of discussion about this in the past, but I suspect you are off to a bad start with your hardware!
