Editing the site administration block

I tried to edit the site administration block of my college Moodle by adding a link "Defaulter List" to the list of options available in the block. I did this by adding a folder named "Defaulter List" in admin/report/ directory having its own index.php and settings.php. However, the link in the homepage is shown as "Defaulter List" (with a pair of brackets).Need help removing them.  I am rookie so any help would be appreciated.

That is happening because you have not set language strings for it. Most configuration task admin strings are in lang/admin.php.

I added a line-> $string['defaulter list']= 'Defaulter List'; in lang/admin.php and it works fine. Thanks a lot for the help smile
