In my system i need an 'Experts' role. So i made a copy of 'non editing teacher' role. And add a new enrolled user to expert role. But this user is not able to add assignments to the topics even though the permission is all set.
In our system experts will be those who will be taking the expert session for the students. They can add assignment in that particular topic. And they should be able to grade those .
I have been trying for 2-3 days. But was not able to do. Please let me know at the earliest , if any option to set like that.
If your custom role is based on the non-editing teacher role then they won't be able to add assignments since the non-editing teacher role cannot add activities, only see them and the gradebook.
Thanks for the reply.
But for an expert , gradebook page displays, but doesn't list the students submissions in that page to grade. We have set all assignment and grade settings.
But for a teacher and admin , that page displays fine.
Whether i am missing something?
Which capabilities have you allowed for this "expert" role? Can you explain how you created this role and in which context? And also - why is it important to you to make a new role - what is not suitable with the regular editing teacher role?
Here are the details of our process. Our system will have teachers and experts.
Teacher will add the topics/sessions of each courses. There may be some sessions which will be taken by some Experts .Either we would like this experts to add activity(assignment/chat/quiz) for those added sessions.Or teacher may add activity in this expert session on behalf of them. Experts should be permitted to view only those activities added in the expert session. And they should be able to grade only those activities (assignment/chat/quiz) in expert session.
Will that be possible by any way?
Any solution to this?
