Class Participation? block

Class Participation? block

I have a request from a teacher to know if there is a Moodle function that would allow the teacher to have a single course participant roster listed all at once then a dropdown menu with potential score/mark next to the student name that would include their grade/mark.

The teacher would like to use a tablet, bring up this assignment, then walk around the room and give students marks directly into the Moodle assignment. Is there a block that does this?

For example:
Student 1        Dropdown (Grade values of 1, 2, 3)
Student 2        Dropdown (Grade values of 1, 2, 3)
Student 3        Dropdown (Grade values of 1, 2, 3)
...

The key is to view all student simultaneously in the list so that as the teacher observes they can quickly give the mark.

Thanks,
Jeff (Moodle 2.5.1)

Hi Jeff,

Setup an assignment that doesn't require any file submission or feedback and uses simple direct grading. When the teacher goes to View/grade all submissions, in the Options section, set Assignments per page to all and put a check mark in the Quick Grading box. You can even use a custom scoring or the regular 100 point scale. After using the drop down to mark a grade for one or more students, the teacher will need to remember to click on the Save All Quick Grading Changes button. My sample in the photo only shows one student, but it will work for many and also for groups.

Hope this helps,

AL
