We are using Moodle 2.5.3+ - Just a question. In my project, we are mostly inserting links via the activity/resource selection. Some users wanted to insert labels and then insert the links into the labels with html instead of using the insert link/file/folder option in the activity/resource selector. Are there any disadvantages to doing this?
Labels

That's an interesting question Tammy! One thing that occurs to me is that if you insert links into a label, they won't appear in the navigation block. This may be considered an advantage or a disadvantage.
Re: Labels
Hi Helen, that was the first thing that I pointed out. I also thought about tracking, if the customer wants to see if the user viewed a certain lesson, if the lesson content is put into a label, will the customer be able to generate such reports?
Re: Labels
No, Labels do not show up in Activity reports.
They do not have very robust Completion tracking either: the only completion option is manual completion by the user; there is no automatic tracking. So basically, unlike URL or Page, you won't know if someone saw or read a Label via Completion reports.
Why? Because there's nothing to track unless the user clicks something.
Which is what the manual completion tracking box is for, of course, but then the user has to know and be told to click that. And in my experience they often do not and so it's not a totally reliable measure.
