I've just upgraded hotpot from v1 (2004122000) to v2. However I found that "View Results" link is not available and grades can't be recorded. Is there anything I have missing? (I'm using Hot Potatoes 6 to create exercises) Any hints?
I've got it...
but can we config. hotpot exercise to store all attempts even not all answers are correct?
> I've got it...
Well done Edit. Sorry I couldn't respond sooner.
For JCloze and JQuiz you should be able to see the wrong answers. Look on the "Detailed report" for a HotPot activity.
all the best
you will be pleased to know that the enhancements to add "click-by-click" reporting are progressing well and I by product of them is that intermittant results of the quiz are available. In other words, even if the student doesn't finish the quiz, the results up to the last click will have been recorded.
I will be demonstrating this at the upcoming JALTCALL 2005 conference in Kyoto, Japan (June 4-6), and I expect to make it available for public download in a few weeks time.
I went to your presentation at JALTCALL. Thanks so much for an excellent presentation and your hard work to develop both the HotPot module and soon this. "click-by-click" reporting module.
I am anxiously awaiting your click-by-click module, as I am training students to use Moodle in the role of "teacher" for our Self-Access Language Centre. We are trying to get students to be "teachers" (actually we are calling them "peer advisors", but I am trying to explain my idea in terms of Moodle settings) outside of any structured class. The kind of feedback and interaction we would like to facilitate them doing will be greatly improved with this kind of feature. It will allow us to see what materials need to be designed for lower level proficiency students who cannot "read" there way around websites so easily...
All the best and thanks immensely again for your valuable work .
thank you very much for the kind message of support and encouragement.
The click report is going well. It works fine on JCloze, JQuiz and JMatch, but I have to tidy up JCross and JMix before it is released. Probably this will be in a month or so.
In a separate enhancement, we are well on the way to getting the HotPot module working with Michael Rottmeier's excellent "Drop-down" and "Find-it" variations on the JCloze. Michael R. has already kindly expressed great interest in the development and is keen to see it in action.
On the horizon is a popular enhancement to allow a chain of HotPots to be added as a single entity. This addition is scheduled for August.
In the distant future is my dream for a Flash player for the HotPot quizzes, to make the quizzes even more engaging and very secure.
So there's a lot to look forward to
all the best
you may have seen that the new version of the HotPot module is now available. Currently, it is undergoing intensive testing, so I don't recommend putting it on a live Moodle site.
However, if you have time you are welcome to head over to my server and look at "HotPot v2.1" in action. In particular, you can see the new click report. You are also welcome to upload your own quizzes and try them out with the the new module.
