Google Analytics - evaluate only logged on users

I have the following problem:

The results of the visits Google Analytics are not very meaningfull, because the number of visits in Google Analytics significantly differ from the real logged in users in moodle.

  • We are tracking the vistis of our moodle installation with Google Analytics.
  • The moodle instance is officially accessible.

Example of a certain day (attached screenshot)

Google Analytics:

  • 26 visits in the timeline
  • In the behaviour flow report of GA the correct value ist shown, but only for the certain day and not in a timline.

Manual evaluation of the Moodle logs: 10 users had been logged in

Is there a possibility to evaluate only the logged on users in Google Analytics?

Hello Luke,

Google Analytics is a great tool to track website data but once you have users engaged in your course activities, it is a complicated process. I would like to suggest to try www.IntelliBoard.net to see what analytical data you can get for your Moodle instance.

Thank you,
Anatoliy
