Du coup pour info le bug est bien identifié.
Le développeur Sam Marshall pense qu’il faudrait que pour ce type de ressource la page s’actualise automatiquement au clic.
Il fait appel aux bonnes volontés car le problème n’est pas pour l’instant prioritaire.
Affaire à suivre donc…

It would be possible to fix this bug in a similar manner to what it already does for the manual completion tickboxes. Basically, if you click a manual-completion tickbox, normally it gets updated immediately by AJAX without reloading the page. But if there is some other activity that depends on that tickbox, then the page reloads.
I don't have time to fix this in the near future (unless it gets raised as an issue locally) but am happy to review if anyone else does a fix.
As a workaround, I would suggest that you switch the resource to use those manual tickboxes, and ask users to tick the box when they have read the PDF or whatever it is. Then it should reload immediately (uh assuming that part isn't broken The completion-on-download is a bit sketchy anyhow because downloading a file isn't really all that meaningful.
