Moodle Release #: '2.7dev (Build: 20131122)'

I'm using Moodle for self learning, and I want to be able to create as well as answer a quiz. Also, after attempting the quiz, I would want to edit the quiz. My use case involves being able to edit the quiz, as well as attempt the quiz, at any time.

 

Do I have to undo all previous attempts at the quiz, before editing it? Or is there a better approach?

Given your intentions, just delete the attempts.

Editing a quiz can involve changing the questions or answers or adding or deleting questions from the quiz.  Some of these edits are disabled after quiz attempts have been made.  Others are not.

If you preview, rather than attempt the quiz, the attempts are not saved and the quiz is not locked.
