Hi, I am just testing this great "collapsed topics" course format on Moodle 2.3 and I am trying to figure out what the "No toggle section x" option is supposed to do. I can't see any difference when between this option and the default. I am sure it is obvious and I am being a dum-dum on a Friday afternoon, but any help would be appreciated.
It removes the text on the right....
Hi Gareth, thanks for the explanation. It looks like I was partly right though, I have tested your course format on two different Moodle instances - the one at work which I was testing before is still not showing that text at all, in any of Chrome/FF/IE, but on my test server at home I CAN see the text on the right!
Maybe this has been turned off at the admin level, is that possible with your format?
BTW, I just checked our Moodle 2.5 testing instance and this "no toggle section x" option appears to have been removed anyway - is that right?
At the admin level it can be turned off (I believe a feature I added back in M2.4 - so much has happened since then) but that's only for users to not be able to control things. Admins will always be able to do everything.
In M2.5 I changed the wording of the text such that it was more positive than negative in response to a request to do so. As users were confused. So now it looks like this:
This was done as an admin user locally (on Moodle 2.5.3 with CT version 18.104.22.168) so I do not understand why it was not working for you. Please can you double check and if not provide version details and screen shots.
Curiouser and curiouser, is seems that option is not available at my work Moodle on either 2.3 or our 2.5 staging server. Thanks Gareth, I'll follow this up with our admins and report back if I learn anything useful.
