How to disable (but not 'remove') Private Files?

I'd like to temporarily disable the 'My Private Files' feature on our M2.4 site until we're sure our students understand what's appropriate to store there.

But I can't find a simple 'disable', only a setting that seems to be warning me that I'm about to 'remove' the plugin.

So I'd appreciate any advice on whether I'm lookin in the right place, or not.

So after reading MoodleDocs, I'm thinking that I need to be changing the setting in: Site administration -> Plugins -> Repositories - >Manage repositories.

But then I get the message shown here:

http://www.queenelizabeth.cumbria.sch.uk/temp/DisablePrivateFiles.pdf

The thread below seems to suggests that Disable will do the trick - but I just wanted to double-check before I do any damage!

Thanks for any advice,

Mark McNulty

Hi Mark. It's fine to disable it - you can always re-enable if you change your mind afterwards.

Hello,

I did what was described above, yet on my student test account I am still able to upload private files.

Is there another setting that I should change?

Thank you,

Robert-Jan
