Changing the dock look

Hello

I'm tryng to change the dock look in order to keep it alwais static for students and to use icons instead of text.

I've tried to change the dock.css on the base theme but I didn't get any change. For example, I want to remove the dock icon "unlock all".

I changed the 16th line on moodle/theme/base/style/dock.css:

#dock .controls {position:absolute;bottom:1em;text-align:center;width:100%;visibility: hidden;}

Nothing changed...

Unlock all still there

I purged the browser caché but didn't work

Any help please?

Group Particularly helpful Moodlers

Are you in theme designer mode? If not did you purge Moodle's cache?

I'm afraid both things are new for me. I'm going to check itI guess both things are controlled by the moodle administrator, not by Apache.

Something happend smile

After enabling the theme designer mode my changes took effect.

Again I disabled the designer mode and the changes keep working. Is it what it's supossed to be?

Thanks a lot

Re: Changing the dock look

Short answer is Yes.

Moodle caches the theme, designer mode turns off the caching so any changes you make take effect, then you turn it back on when you're happy with what you've got. Designer mode has an impact on performance if you're doing what you're doing on a production server because of the abscence of the caching process.

But that is normal for Moodle that the theme doesn't change until you enable designer mode.
