Hello all. I was wondering if there is a way to completely disable user profile pictures. Not just to disable the ability to change your profile pictures but a way to make them not show up on the site at all. Thanks for any responses!
To stop them showing up in the site at all I think you would need to change some of the code which is not advisable.
I could be wrong about that but I have never seen a setting which allows you to disable them completely.
One reason doing that would be problematic is it would alter the layout of certain pages, user images are rendered in all user management fields, gradebook etc, so "turning off" would affect the view of many pages and be problematic.
A work around would be to:
- disable the ability to change pictures (which you already know how to do).
- replace the default image on Moodle with a transparrent image
So the image would still show but it would be transparrent / invisible to users. However you would see empty space in the profile page, user lists etc which may be worse than just showing the default image.
