I am running Moodle 1.8.14 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with MySQL and PHP5 and Apache2. I know this is an old version, but it is for research purposes and I have to use this exact version.
I followed the Install guide for Ubuntu at http://docs.moodle.org/25/en/Step-by-step_Install_Guide_for_Ubuntu
After the installation, I stepped through the web-based set up and configuration, and had to supply my own config.php as mentioned in a couple other posts where users were stuck at the "checking your environment" step.
I am able to access Moodle as the administrator and can add new users, but several functions are simply not working at all. For these functions, when I click on the link or button that is supposed to access it, I only get a blank page.
Functions that do this that I have found so far include:
- Clicking the Edit link for any user in Moodle
- If, when logged in as a user, I click Edit Profile
- I attempt to create a new blog entry
- I attempt to add a new course (I can add a category)
Also, Course Creators have no apparent means of creating a course - I simply see nothing other than that I have no courses. Also, when looking at the user who is a Course Creator, I only see them as a Student.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
