Hello,

learn.moodle.net was a nice experience and I just thought that it would be great to have a place to link up with other participants in the learn moodle mooc. so say Hi if you see this smile.

I've also managed to back up my course successfully but seeing that i won't be doing much with it in the near future, i'm putting it up here.

it should just be a simple file download that can be used by restoring as a course within your moodle.

Nice to see you guys here smile

Hi Ann - and Domenico and Aparup and Dawn

I agree, LearnMoodle was completely addictive and I already miss it.

I didn't complete all the activities, but I've downloaded as much as possible of the materials (and gone over my download limit saving forum topics) because I'm desperate to get to grips with my new 2.5 Moodle and there are so many differences from 1.9. MOOC came along at just the right time for me. The Good Ideas forums had some cracking ideas - many unsuitable for my learners and topics, but lots of others are very adaptable. For me, that has been the highlight of the course along with the collegial atmosphere.

I appreciate your blog post, Ann - a proper use of reflective practice and very interesting. You did a great job on your online course, too, and used some practical ideas with hidden blocks.I wish I had more time to spend analysing all your other solutions!

Yes Thank you Benjamin,

as a newbie I had always wondered the meaning of that icon.

So it is better that we go easy on its use smile

Hey folks,

WOW! Nice to see you all here :0)

Thanks for that Aparup.

Ann-I really enjoyed reading your reflections...how thorough and poignant.

Benjamin-I love the play on words too big grin

Hi to Domenico and Christine too.

I have found out I don't have a teaching cohort this semester (I am heartbroken of course blush)  But I have lots of other stuff and deadlines to meet instead... it does mean I am not actively using Moodle at the moment to build courses...I shall continue to log in though- as I keep an ideas file and might be able to contribute in some way.

warm wishes

Dawn

Hi everyone,

And good to see you over here on Moodle.org: Welcome! smile I agree that the http://learn.moodle.net/ MOOC was particularly well organised and administrated. I think a lot of it comes down to Mary Cooch's and other members of Moodle.org's experience of participating in the Moodle community, helping out with issues, answering questions, solving problems, and discussing ideas.

It's also been a great learning experience for me reading all the discussions, issues, and suggestions. It's given me some new avenues and ideas to explore and pursue.

Happy Moodling!

You can always create other things with Moodle courses, I've used them for CPD, extra curricular clubs and all sorts before.

Having a forum and wiki for something like the IT club can be great at getting the students to socialise more!

Also a teacher-only course where you can keep on top of notices is useful!

You can always install it locally to your PC and have a play anyway smile
