2.5.2+ Themes PLUGINNAME error

We are running Moodle 2.5.2+ on Unbuntu. I can download 2.x themes (ex: Essential for 2.5.x) and copy the files into a folder in the theme folder (ex: theme/essential) but the new themes only show up as the word pluginname surrounded by double brackets (if they show up on this forum, it looks like: pluginname).

I have searched the forums for info, and the number issue seems to be people trying to install 1.9 themes in 2.0, but that is not what I am doing. I am installing a 2.x theme.

Is it possibly a permissions issue? I am a Linux newbie, so any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm replying to myself in case anyone has the same issue. I figured it out! The problem was the ftp client I was using. I don't know why, but everything worked when I used the commandline at the server to wget the zip and then unzip the file. Evidently, my ftp client didn't play nicely with my ftp server (probably an operator error when I set up ftp on the thing).

Anyway, Essential is now installed! Wahoo!
