jQuery 2 - Moodle 2.6/2.7

jQuery 2 - Moodle 2.6/2.7

Are there any thoughts about when jQuery 2 will be included in Moodle? It doesn't support IE8, but IE8 support was going to be dropped in Moodle 2.5.

While I'm talking about IE8, will Moodle drop support for it in 2.6?

What does jQuery 2 do that JQuery 1.x does not do?

It just looks like it's smaller and has bug fixes: http://blog.jquery.com/2013/04/18/jquery-2-0-released/ - worth the agro at this stage?  Probably not, rather for 2.6 to update to the latest 1.x version.

And do as much as you can in YUI only resorting to jQuery if it's useful.  This is a really good book: http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920013303.do.

At the moment I think it's just smaller and cleaned up a bit. A few methods have been deprecated, so I thought that the sooner the jQuery included with Moodle is changed to jQuery 2. The fewer plugins will need converting once jQuery 2 is included.
