I was just this morning rating entries in my first forum of the new term, when I discovered a new way to do them that I really like.
My biggest grip with rating forums has always been that when you click on one discussion link, your browser leaves the list to go to it. When you are done rating that discussion, you have to go back to the list and select the next discussion. The going back-and-forth is rather time consuming.
Luckily, today I realized that the forum I was going to go through was showing in the Ajax Marking block on the front page of my Moodle. I took a chance and clicked on one of the forum links. The discussion thread almost immediately popped open in another window without covering up the marking block. I quickly rated the entries in that thread and closed the window. After rating a couple more threads, I realized that I did not need to close the pop up window, just click the next link in the marking block. By the time I was done, I realized I had literally been saved from making hundreds of clicks, and being forced to wait on dozens and dozens of page loads.
The only "downside" I have noted, is that even though every discussion has been rated, it is still showing in the marking block. I am hoping that it is because the forum actually doesn't "end" until tomorrow. If I have to, I can just go in to the settings and close the eye for that forum when it is over, and that will remove it.
By the way, I really like your "photo" as it is very similar to the some of the vector graphics drawings I teach my students to make as fill-in projects during the year and for use as their own avatar.
