I have developed a block to show each student their own target in a block. The targets are taken from a (probably manual) grade item which needs to be added to the course called 'Target'.
A teacher will see instructions to set up the grade item if it doesn't already exist.

I don't think I will have much time to maintain it but if people could test it, and there aren't too many issues, I will look at submitting it to the plugin directory.
