I want to setup a Moodle course to train employees in multiple orgaizations. I would like to give the organization updates on their employees - how would this be possible? Can I setup a group in a course and give the employer a login to view the results of the group (their employees). Right now the only rights I want to give them is the ability to track the employee progress.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how I could do this. Thanks.

Yes - you could make the employers non-editing teachers so they can view grades but not edit/delete stuff on the course. And you can also remove from them the capability "access all groups" so they only see the results of their own group/employees. You would have to have your course (in course edit settings) set up to separate groups for this.
