Moodle causing httpd service to hog CPU

Hi

Not sure if this is the right section of the site, but we have recently had an issue where clicking a link on Moodle is causing the httpd service to hog the CPU of the server it is installed on.

This in turn is causing Moodle to completely lock up until we restart the service.

This I believe started when a user was creating a subcategory for the course, and after clicking save changes, has caused the issue.

Moodle was setup by an ex-employee, and I believe there are no backups of the database, site or courses. I also don't have much experience with Moodle, so please excuse my lack of Moodle knowledge.

Where could I start in trying to find a solution to this?

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

Ash
