Decimal value declared for a quiz, but then it seems to drop the decimals

Our Moodel ISP just updated our site to Moodle 1.5 Alpha (2005050600) and we are now entering quizzes into a course that is just being developed. I was glad to hear that Rev 1.5 allows an assignment or a quiz to have a decimal value weighting, say 1.25% for each quiz.

We just entered a 1.25 grade value for a single quiz, saved the grade, and re-opened it and it reads 1, not 1.25. Questions:

1. Is the value 1 or 1.25 in the gradebook.
2. Did we do something wrong? (we declared two decimal places in the screen before this)
3. Is there something published that describes the quiz and gradebook items for 1.5 that we should read/study?

Bigger question: Would you recommend using moodle 1.5 Alpha as we go forward? Our courses will go live in on June 7th and I want to make sure we are confident that what our course developers are doing with 1.5 and will have time for correct minor issues before going live.

Concerning the grading:
Are you using the gradebook interface or the quiz interface?
If you are using the gradebook is it the "curve to" section under categories?

Assuming you are using the gradebook interface: If you had a quiz worth 1 point and set it to 1.25 in the curve to box you would actually be doing your students a disservice. Their grades would be calculated against 1.25 total points rather than the actual 1 point. ie. A student that scored 1/1 points would then have their grade calculated as 1/1.25 instead.

If you are looking for fractional percentages the weights will handle this automatically. Percentages will be scaled as necessary so that all points within a category are worth the same percentage contribution to the total grade. So you can intermingle assignments of different point values within a category and have their grades calculated accordingly.

As far as documentation, their are supposed to be help files for the gradebook already included.

Werner double-posted the identical post also in the quiz forum and I replied there. Please try to avoid double postings.
