I'm currently using Moodle 2.3.x but I've seen the same behaviour on a Moodle 2.5.x instance as well.
I installed Apache, PHP and Postgres using Homebrew, and access the Moodle instance using the following url using http, not https:
The Moodle instance works fine for everything *except* file uploads.
File uploads consistently fail.
In Google Chrome (28.0.1500.95) I see the following three line (slightly modified to get past the spam filter) error in the developer console:
Blocked a frame with origin test-moodle.local:8080 from accessing a frame with origin "null". The frame requesting access has a protocol of "http", the frame being accessed has a protocol of "data". Protocols must match.
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'one' of undefined
The file upload fails.
There is no error in the http-error.log nor is any error thrown by the Moodle code itself. The error seems to be related to the browser and the way in which it is interpreting the actions needed to undertake the file upload.
The error occurs if I use the "file upload button" or the "drag and drop" method.
The same type of error exists if I use FireFox (22.0) or Safari (6.0.5). Either the error message is a little different or I don't see any error at all.
Has anyone seen Moodle, or any other web application, exhibit this type of error? If so how did you resolve it.
The error occurs for all types of upload, for example when uploading an assignment submission, or uploading a CSV file containing user data.
Any thoughts on how to further diagnose and resolve the error will be very welcome.
