I have recently migrated some tutorials to Moodle. In their former location they had a facility where the user could add URLs of referenced sites that they liked to a 'links basket' which they could then export at the end of the tutorial to add to their bookmarks or a file of links. An experienced Moodle user suggested that I use a glossary to replicate this functionality in Moodle.
I set up a glossary with the export feature enabled and added links to the relevant part of the glossary (anchored by initial letter of the glossary entry) from the main part of the tutorial. It would have been nice if the 'autolinking' to the glossary could have been used here, but it didn't work because it just popped up an isolated definition without the chance to export the glossary entry. Linking manually to the glossary as I've done is a reasonable substitute, though if you look at the tutorial on a laptop you tend to see only the header part of the glossary page rather than the entry!
I have the impression that some at least of the functionality I've used is fairly new in Moodle (because it doesn't appear in older documentation). So may I suggest the following ideas for future releases?
a) a bit more flexibility in autolinking (e.g. optionally allowing you to export the glossary link, or taking you to a page of the glossary rather than a popup).
b) a rather shorter header on glossary pages for glossary entries beginning with a particular letter.
