Firstly, a bit of a disclaimer. I know what I'm proposing here is not what Feedback was originally intended for, but I don't think that makes it a bad idea. I'm interested in well, feedback ( ) from the community on whether this is a good idea, and worth pursuing. Here goes!
Lesson allows us to create branching activities that individual students can do, but it never shows a student how the rest of the class answered a particular question, or how the class did on the activity as a whole.
If we could show this back to students, it could be used to prompt discussion on how students progress through a case study analysis for example.
Feedback should technically be capable of this for a non-gradable activity. By creating a sequence of questions using depend items within them, we *should* technically be able to create a branched activity. Except that it doesn't quite work (see tracker item https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-40689 )
Lesson suffers a bit from being a little clunky and time consuming to create, however Feedback is relatively quick and easy.
So; could Feedback be a viable alternative to Lesson for practice tasks and conversation starters with follow on activities such as Forum and Chat? Would anyone else consider it for this purpose?
