Please Turn the debugging on at your site from Administration > Site administartion > Development > Debugging. Set it to to developer and display debug message to yes. And again try to restore the course you will get more detailed of the error and post it here. It will help other to solve your problem.
Thanks a lot Sakshi. I finally solved the problem, it has to do with pmatchreverse plugin.
I just removed this plugin and all went allright.
