I'm talking about this package of Moodle: http://download.moodle.org/windows/
I skimmed through the documentation and read how this is for development use and not real life use because of a lack of security, etc. However, I think it would work okay in my environment, and I would like to have a discussion about this.
Our environment is something like that of a franchise. The franchisor controls the network that connects all franchisees. It's security is completely controlled and locked down by them; however, we are allowed our own servers to create fileservers or intranets. The franchisor works with us on these, but none of them are accessible from outside the company's walls.
My belief (and hope) is that I can install the Windows Distribution Package onto a server and have a real life production, since the security to the outside world is covered by the franchisor. Is the package stable enough to do this?
