The situation is i want to add a setup file for the student to download it and then provide that link in the course.
Can anyone help me how can i upload a setup file for student to download.i want to make a category named as "softwares" and when student click that category list of softwares appear and from there he or she can download their desired softwares.i am using moodle 2.5

Have you tried to create a Folder resource? You could then add your files to the folder. The student would be able to access the Folder from the main course page. You could also copy the URL of the folder and link to it within any activity. To do this you would use the HTML editor within the activity, select the word within the activity that you want to link to the Folder with the files, you will then click on the HTML editor icon that looks like a chain link and paste the URL to the Folder, save changes and it will link to the Folder within the activity.
