I'm hoping someone can help to identify whether this is a bug or if I've missed something on set up.
- I have a large number of academics set up as editing teachers in a course.
- I want them all to be able to post in the news forum
- I want all students to be forced to be subscribed to the news forum so they don't miss any messages.
- I do not want any academics to be forced to subscribe so they can avoid getting irrelevant (to them) messages from other staff members
I assumed that if I set capabilities/mod/forum:allowforcesubscribe to prohibit for editing teachers then they would not be subscribed to the forum.
However when I look at the show / edit current subscribers then the academics with the editing teacher role are all in the list and it says "This forum forces everyone to be subscribed"
Have I missed some permissions that I need to set up?
Does this occur for other people? Is it possible for someone to test this out and see?
(I'm currently using Moodle 2.4)
