Creating Course Groups using IMS Enterprise plugin

Creating Course Groups using IMS Enterprise plugin

Hi All,

I would like to be able to enrol students into groups within specific courses via the ims enterprise plugin. An example would be to create  a primary English course and enrol students onto the course then assign those students to one of five Groups within the course ie. BAQTS Year1, BAQTS Year2, and so on.

I know how to create the course and enrol students onto it, I'm just not sure how to then add the students into the Groups via the ims import.

Does anyone know if this can be done?

Thanks in advance

Chris

You can use "membership" -> "member" -> "extension" -> "cohort"
This tag is NOT a cohort inside moodle, it's a group (yes, I know this is confusing, I don't understand why they decided to use this name for the tag).
They are changing the code so you'll see changes in every Moodle version: for example, in the last version, enrollments in group made by IMS, can't be deleted manually, you need to do this by IMS.

I hope this information can helps you.

Thanks Eduardo,

That worked perfectly. Your right I was getting confused with the term 'cohort' also being used for 'groups'.

Thanks for your help.
