- Firefox 1.0 can display MathML natively, and there are robust plugins for IE.
- MathML can only be embedded in an XML document.
- You can't simply change theme header.html files to issue 'Content-Type: text/xml' declarations, as the html Moodle produces is incompatible with the stricter rules for xml parsing.
- The easiest way round this is to convert the MathML into TEX, and use the TEX filter, which is what the MathML filter that we have does.
I'm just trying to get to grips with MathML, which looks brilliant in theory but rather problematic in practive. Am I right in thinking that the following is the current state of play:
