I need to customize the navbar of my theme, but I cannot change the lib.php.
I need to show in navbar the long name instead of short name.
Is it possible?

The easiest way to do this, providing of course you are using Moodle 2 and NOT Moodle 1.9, is to create a renderer. You will find a link to a tutorial on how to override a renderer in the following link, as well as find other useful tutorials to help with your previous question.
