Your graphic could be here

How do I get rid of the 'Your graphic could be here' message on my courses homepage? I don't intend putting a graphic there and would rather use that space for text. In any case I don't know how to go about putting either a graphic or text in that space!

Hi,

My daughter helped me two days ago with this very issue.  I wanted the theme brightretro and just simple text, not a fancy logo, so she went to http://coolarchive.com/logogenerator.php and typed in the text that we wanted.  We set the background color to match the background color of brightretro FFB62d (If you have a different theme, you can view source and look for <body bgcolor=" )  We set the size to: 413 x 50 pixels and then clicked submit.  Then we saved the image to the desktop and uploaded it to our moodle directory and replaced our old logo: theme/brightretro/logo.jpg

You can view the results at:  http://moodle.snevets.com

Hope this helps,
Mark and Deena

Hi Guys (and girl!) thanks for your help. The problem is exactly as Mark encountered recently i.e. with the brightretro theme, and I have been following his instructions successfully up to the last step where I have uploaded the image I created at http://coolarchive.com/logogenerator.php to the moodle directory. Mark, could you tell me final step required to finish the job and replace the 'Your graphic could be here' logo with the created image stored in the moodle directory. In other words how do I do it? If for any reason this doesn't work out I'll revert to Martin's advice which I'm sure will solve it.

Hi,

We are happy to hear that you have almost made it.  The last step is a piece of cake, and maybe you've already done it.  Go to your directory:  /moodle/theme/brightretro/ and drop in your new logo.jpg.  At this point you need to clear your cache to make the new image appear.  Click on the refresh, or maybe you have to manually clear your cache from your browser (aka: refresh, clear cache, restart browser, use another browser, pray, etc.).  Hope this helps.
