Sure, here is a screenshot of the report that this block generates, viewed in excel. As you can see, there is the course ID number, the course name, the student number (firstname field) and columns for each course session (class01-class08). A date appears next to a student number when that student is absent from class. The first class is completely blank because that teacher does not take attendance using Moodle, so there is no data. But the second teacher does, and there are 13 absences in 8 class sessions. Students B130021 and B130625 have three absenses, so they are in trouble. This data sheet is really large because we have 175 separate courses, this screenshot shows only the first three.
If this does not fit your situation, you'll have to ask a PHP programmer to adjust some lines of code. This block is fairly simple, so it is not a big job. If someone wanted to create a really useful function of this block, you could program it to generate automatic email messages that said something like,
This is your school and we noticed you were absent on [xxx date, yyydate, zzzdate] in [aaa class subject]. You may have to make-up those classes. Is there anything we can do to help? Please reply to me if you have any questions.
Regards, [aaa teacher/school staff]
